Incoming Quality Control Inspector
Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated, experienced individual to join our company as an Incoming Quality Control Inspector. As a member of our Quality Assurance team, you will be responsible for assessing the quality and conformity of materials, components, or products that are received from suppliers or other facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection and Testing: Conduct thorough inspections and testing of incoming materials, parts, or finished products to determine if they meet the specified quality criteria. This may involve using various measuring tools, gauges, or specialized equipment.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that the incoming items adhere to the quality standards, industry regulations, and company guidelines. Identify any deviations or non-conformances and document them for further analysis.
- Documentation and Reporting: Accurately record inspection results, test data, and other relevant information in inspection reports or quality control systems. Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings and communicate them to relevant stakeholders.
- Non-Conformance Management: Identify and document any non-conforming items or materials, and initiate appropriate actions such as rejection, rework, or return to the supplier. Collaborate with other departments to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Supplier Management: Collaborate with suppliers to address quality concerns, provide feedback on non-conforming items, and work towards continuous improvement of incoming materials. Maintain good communication channels to ensure effective resolution of quality-related issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, or cost savings within the incoming quality control function. Suggest and implement improvements to enhance overall quality and productivity.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or 2+ years of related work experience in the same role.
- Strong attention to detail to distinguish and ability to conduct accurate and precise measurements.
- Familiarity with quality control methods, tools, and inspection techniques.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for effective reporting and collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions based on established criteria.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments and quality control software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in quality control or related areas such as Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) can be beneficial.
- Have knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
