Position Description

As a Procurement/Quoting Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing internal requirements and schedules to ensure materials, equipment, components and services are purchased and received in accordance with requirements and needs.

This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and requires proficiency with common data and document tools such as Excel, Word, and Google Docs.

This is a fast-paced position that requires self-management and the ability to rapidly adapt to changing customer and business needs.  Multiple teams across the organization and within MacroFab's network will rely on you to achieve their goals.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchase Order Management: Execute purchase orders for materials, components, and supplies needed for electronics manufacturing operations.
  • Order Tracking and Management: Monitor and track all orders from placement through delivery, ensuring on-time receipt of materials.
  • Expediting: to keep the product schedule on track you will expedite parts when and as required.
  • Supplier Management: Develop and maintain vendor partnerships. Create scorecards for evaluation of supplier performance.
  • Quoting: Review and quote customer RFQs, coordinate quoting process with Sales Operations and Engineering lead-time requirements, prepare proposals for PCB assembly projects.
  • Supplier Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with existing and potential suppliers to optimize cost and delivery
  • Cost Analysis and Reporting: Analyze purchasing data, PPVs, generate reports on spending, lead times, and supplier performance
  • Budget Development: Work with Operations and Manufacturing team to develop purchasing budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, production planning, or supply chain in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and material flows
  • Ability to negotiate pricing, terms, and implement MSAs, SLAs, NDAs
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills for tracking, reporting, and cost analysis
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage many moving parts simultaneously

The Ideal Candidate

  • 3-5 years of experience with the purchasing of electronic components preferred
  • Excellent purchasing and negotiation skills
  • The ability to understand and communicate technical details associated with technical specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience working with customers and internal teams
