MacroFab is the world's first digital manufacturing platform and marketplace for electronics manufacturing. We are a team of highly motivated doers focused on delivering value to our customers every day while developing innovative solutions to disrupt and transform a $500B market. Our mission is to build a software platform that enables hardware companies to manufacture their products more efficiently while enabling contract manufacturing factories to take advantage of excess capacity and increase profitability. Many of the largest and most exciting product companies, from startups to Fortune 500s, work with us daily to meet their manufacturing needs - from prototypes to high-volume production.

About the Job

As a Product Manager at MacroFab, you'll be solving complex problems that redefine how the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry works. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to discover and define solutions to key customer problems, act as the voice of the customer as our Development teams implement the solutions, and continuously iterate with your team as you gather data and learn more from customers.

We've built a vertically integrated platform that spans multiple functional areas and customer segments. This role is on our new emerging technologies product team focused on introducing new 0 to 1 SaaS products in the electronics manufacturing space. The way to think about this newly formed team is that they are a startup within a startup and will move exceptionally fast.

MacroFab is on a rapid growth path following our recent $42M Series C funding in January 2023. We are investing in all facets of our Product organization, which makes for an exciting place to work with many growth opportunities. This role is an excellent fit if you desire to work on a small high-performance team that can have a significant impact without all the red tape that comes with traditional large enterprises. You'll have complete ownership of your functional area and generate actual results.

Core Responsibilities

  • Understanding the unique pains across our customer segments and continuously performing discovery, especially talking to customers, to prioritize high-value solutions.
  • Doing in-depth assessments of our data so we can make informed decisions. Accordingly, where data does not exist, help define what metrics are relevant as part of an overall strategy.
  • Working with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand the constraints we face, and in doing so, develop a Product roadmap that works for our business.
  • Work with cross-functional software development teams to take roadmap items from idea to solution implementation through launch and show impact.
  • Assist with written reports, presentations to stakeholders, and provide training as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders like marketing on key initiatives to help grow MacroFab.
  • Keeping up to date with industry and competitors' trends and Product and Development best practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience building or shipping software products. An MBA could be helpful but is not required.
  • 5+ years experience developing or launching software products and technologies within one or more of the following: Cloud, SaaS, enterprise, internal tools, or complex supply chain networks.
  • Experience doing qualitative Product discovery work with external and internal customers.
  • Proven ability to use analytical and quantitative skills to extract data and build metrics to back up assumptions, evaluate outcomes, and challenge the status quo.
  • Experience synthesizing quantitative and qualitative data into product requirements and the overall product roadmap while also driving product implementation and delivery.
  • Experience driving product vision, go-to-market strategy, and design discussions.

Ideal Qualifications

  • You've owned a software product or major featureset from conception to release and can show how you measured success.
  • Work experience in one or more of the following:
    • Experience with or worked on or with a product team at a popular EDA tool like Altium, Eagle, Cadence Allegro, etc.
    • Experience in the electronics industry especially with electronic component selection and board design.
    • Familiarity with the electronics supply chain including primary and secondary market distributors like Digikey, Mouser, Smith & Associates, and Arrow.
    • Worked on the hardware or software side of a team that brought a product to market in a technical capacity.
  • Knowledge of multiple functional areas like Product Management, Engineering, UX/UI, Sales, Customer Support, Finance, or Marketing.
  • A track record of influencing multiple stakeholders without direct authority while managing competing priorities.
  • You can query a database, like MySQL, to uncover product insights. If data is not available, you know how to instrument a product using third party SaaS tools to measure success.

Even if you don't meet all of the requirements listed here, we still encourage you to apply. Skills can be used in many different ways, and your life and professional experience may be relevant beyond what any list of requirements will capture.

Note: MacroFab is currently not sponsoring H1-B Visas.

Your answer will be maintained confidentially and not be seen by selecting officials or anyone else involved in making personnel decisions. Completing the form will not negatively impact you in any way, regardless of whether you have self-identified in the past.
